Nurturing character growth!
Our character growth program is designed to unleash your children's awesomeness by intentionally nurturing their character in a positive direction.
We emphasize six character traits, one at the time on a monthly basis.
- Take with you a monthly sticker designed to remind children to seize the opportunities to grow their character.
- Children share with our coaches how they are putting the trait into practice or show progress to earn a Jewel for their Jewel Badge!
- Parent or Responsible adult can award an additional jewel for extra effort worth celebrating, also adding it to the Jewel Badge!
- Jewel Badges are displayed at the gym on the Treasure Chest Wall for all of us to celebrate your progress!
- Collect all twelve jewels throughout six months and take an awesome Award home to celebrate your growth!

F.A.Q.'s
- How Do I get Jewel Badges?
- By being enrolled in our program, students automatically get their 'Jewel Badge' added to Inspire's Treasure Chest Wall. This is the place where we get to collect our 'Jewels' as a reward for character growth.
- How are Jewels awarded?
- During class, age-appropriate descriptions of the character trait are seamlessly incorporated in creative ways. As children share with their coaches how they seized opportunities to practice the character trait throughout the month, their coaches will award a Jewel to their name badge. This is a joyful moment for them and worth celebration.
- What do I do with the sticker?
- At the beginning of the month, children receive a sticker with the Character Trait we are focusing on that particular month. For example: Let's say our monthly character trait is 'RESPONSIBILITY'. That means that during the first class for that month, your children get a 'Model Responsibility' sticker. They can place this sticker at a place that can remind them to seize opportunities to practice 'responsibility'. It's a fun way to reinforce positive behavior throughout the month.
- How many Jewels can my child earn per month?
- Two: one awarded by our coaches; the second, a parent or another responsible adult. If you see your child making an extra effort related to our monthly character trait, an effort worth celebrating, simply stop by the front desk to get your jewel and you get to add it yourself to their badge on the wall, or we can add it on your behalf, making it a collaborative effort!
- Can my child earn Jewels for any character trait in any month?
- No, Jewels can only be earned for the character trait we are highlighting that month.
- What criteria is used to award Jewels?
- We understand each child is unique, and will display character growth in different ways at different ages. With that in mind, our criteria is simple: Is a child showing signs of character growth in a positive direction? If so, our coaches will award a Jewel!
- Our staff is equipped to seamlessly incorporate character growth during class, making it a fun endeavor.
- How do I know what you are teaching?
- Great question! We’ve defined each character trait as a guideline for further clarity.
- • Confidence is the courage to believe in one’s abilities, which empowers individuals to take on challenges and pursue their goals. It comes from practice, experience, and a positive mindset. At Inspire Athletics, we cultivate confidence by providing a supportive environment where students can try new skills, learn from mistakes, and celebrate their achievements. When we build confidence, we encourage our students to embrace challenges, trust their instincts, and believe in their potential for success. Confidence is not to be confused with Self Grandiose Pride.
- • Kindness is the ability to show care, empathy, and respect for others through words, actions, and attitudes. It’s a choice to treat others with compassion, patience, and understanding, even in challenging situations. In practice, kindness involves recognizing the needs and feelings of others and being willing to lend a helping hand, share encouragement, and uplift those around us. At Inspire Athletics, we foster kindness by encouraging our students to support one another, listen attentively, and show gratitude for their peers and coaches. Kindness builds strong friendships, a positive training environment, and a sense of belonging for everyone. Kindness is not to be confused with weakness.
- • Perseverance is the steadfastness and determination to keep going, even when faced with challenges or obstacles. It involves maintaining a positive attitude and continuing to strive toward goals, despite difficulties or setbacks. For us, perseverance means pushing through tough practices, staying focused on improvement, and not giving up when things get hard. It’s about embracing the journey of growth, understanding that failure is a part of success, and having the courage to keep trying. By fostering perseverance in our students, we equip them with the resilience and grit needed to overcome challenges both in sports and in life. -Do not confuse with Stubbornness
- • Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It involves doing what is right, even when no one is watching. Integrity means being accountable for one's actions, making choices that align with one’s values, and treating others with fairness and respect. For us, integrity is about fostering trust within the team, demonstrating reliability, and standing up for what is right, both in and out of the gym. Encouraging integrity in our students helps them develop a sense of responsibility, enhances their self-confidence, and prepares them to navigate challenges with a strong ethical foundation.
- • Respect is the act of valuing and appreciating others, including their feelings, boundaries, and contributions. It’s about treating people, places, and belongings with care and showing regard for differences in perspective and experience. At Inspire Athletics, we practice respect by listening carefully, following gym rules, caring for our equipment, and honoring our coaches’ and teammates’ efforts. Respect creates a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and motivated to do their best.
- • Responsibility is the ability to take ownership of our actions and the impact they have on ourselves and others. It means making thoughtful choices that lead to positive outcomes, both now and in the future. At Inspire Athletics, we foster responsibility by encouraging students to set goals, follow through on commitments, and consider the consequences of their actions. By embracing responsibility, we build trust within our community and develop important life skills that support personal growth and success in athletics and beyond.
